FORAMS 2010, the International Symposium on Foraminifera, will be held in Bonn, from September 5 to September 10, 2010. The Symposium will be held in the Main Building of the University of Bonn, an attractive 17th century baroque palace located in the center of Bonn, near the Old City Hall, a mere 5-minute walk from Bonn's main railway station and the Rhine River.

The International Symposium on Foraminifera FORAMS 2010 continues the tradition of the highly successful meetings previously held in Halifax (Benthos'75), Pau (Benthos'81), Geneva (Benthos'86), Sendai (Benthos'90), Berkeley (Forams'94), Monterrey (Forams'98), Perth (Forams 2002), Natal (Forams, 2006).
During the last Forams 2006 in Natal, Brazil, the general assembly decided to hold the next meeting, Forams 2010, in Bonn, Germany.

The University Main Building has a large auditorium and a number of larger lecture rooms, in addition to medium-sized to smaller meeting rooms situated around a central courtyard, forming an ideal setting for the meeting. Because the conference will be held in university buildings, we will be able to keep the costs reasonably low. One of our main goals is to keep conference fees as low as possible; they will not exceed € 250 for professionals; students will be able to qualify for a reduced rate.

It is with great pleasure and honor that Bonn hosts this important scientific event, which certainly will contribute to spread even further the knowledge and the science among all countries represented at the meeting.

We look forward to welcoming you in Bonn!
Martin R. Langer,
Chairman of FORAMS 2010
Bonn Germany, July 2008
